What is Push Marketing?
All advertising falls into two broad categories – Push and Pull Marketing. Advertising through it is trying to push products towards consumers using attractive ads and attention-grabbing claims and offers to highlight products into the consumer’s minds. Also knows as direct response marketing or outbound marketing. To accomplish this, companies target consumers using attractive and wide-reaching ads to make the biggest and most immediate impact on consumers.
Some examples for Push Marketing are TV Ads, Email Ads, Direct Mails, Negotiating with retailers to stock the products, Direct selling at the showrooms, Trade show promotions, Social Media Ads, Display at showrooms, pay per click ads and many more such mediums. This marketing strategy casts a wide net in the hopes of grabbing as many consumers as possible. It focuses only on pushing products towards them.
The greatest advantage of it is that it gives quick results and make clear statements to consumers. Push Marketing is a strategy that is used most frequently by start-ups and companies introducing new products into the market. If many consumers don’t know your product, or if consumers simply aren’t actively looking for your product because of lack of need, then Push Marketing is the only helpful tool you can use.
It’s almost impossible to build awareness with Pull Marketing in Social Media Marketing as it is all about attracting consumers that are already interested in your product or service. Advertising on relevant industry websites with Big Banner Ads, Sponsered Blogging, Social Media Ads, Display Marketing and TV advertising are all great channels for a firm to get the product known.
You need to be great at producing viral content, have an amazing product or a lot of budgets to spend on Push Marketing.
